We all have something to say about out pets how naughty they are, or how lovable and so on… Sasha our Dalmatian who came to us nine years back is Different!. It was just a year since we had lost two of our mixed breed dogs Buster and Princess.

Pets, and above all dogs were farthest from my mind. A busy marketing career, two teenagers and a home that was never short of guests kept me on my toes!! My husband’s philosophy was replacing a lost pet with another as quickly as possible to reduce the lacuna created by the death of a loving pet.

But I felt otherwise. My mind was full of the handsome, dignified Buster and the doe eyed loving Princess.

To cut the long story short my older son caught me in a weak moment and got me to say yes to get another pet at home. He immediately went through every pet ad and chanced on this one that said, owner going abroad … want to give away a loving female Dalmatian to a loving home!!

Without much ado he went off on his own to see this lady with black dots!! It was a Saturday. He came back with a victorious grin!! The family was ready to give the 75 day old Dalmatian to him!! The price a fraction of what they had paid!! Father and son went off to bring the new baby home!

(To be continued)
