Today,  a spectacular annular solar eclipse darkened skies along a 300 metre wide track, visible across half the earth.   The maximum duration of annularity was 11 minutes and 8 seconds.  It was visible mostly across the African and the Asian continent.  Millions of enthusiasts witnessed the  celestial phenomenon.

Every time there is an eclipse there are several studies conducted to observe animal and plant behavior during the period.   The change in the intensity of light and the quality of the light  during a solar eclipse prompts a change in the routine behavior of animals and birds. 

For instance, prefer roosting to flying, cattle graze less and many animals settle down as if it were night time. 

Murphy opted for a special kind of howl for the phenomenon that was followed by a series of short confused barks!

 Today I wanted to talk about my neighbor’s dog Murphy again.  It is the same dog that loves tomatoes for breakfast,  lunch and dinner.

For the past month or so, Murphy has extended his friends’ circle.  He spends more and more time with all his new friends and less time in his home and with the family that adopted him.  He refuses to be leashed  and prefers eating what is fed to him by all his new friends. 

His owner loves him a lot, gets him the best of meals and tries to keep him home, but to no avail!  Murphy is so happy waiting for his friends to come, he trots around looking for familiar faces of friends who are ready to give him a variety of treats.

But he is no longer the snow white Pomeranian.  His coat does not shine as beautifully as it once did, though his eyes are always sparkling.  However, he is well looked after when his family goes away on a holiday, free of charge.  He is one contented dog that hardly loses his temper and is the darling of everyone he befriends. 

Murphy no longer belongs only to my neighbor.  he is everybody’s dog. Would you share your pet in this manner?  Would you allow him to befirend the people and animals around to an extent that he hardly wants to come back home? 

This is an informal kind of petsharing, whereas, Pet Sharing is a concept that is swiftly turning into an enterprise today.  Pet Sharing is turning out to be a workable business idea where you pay something for membership and then take home pets for which you are charged per day!
