The Great Dane , the St. Bernard, the Borzoi, the Turkish Shepherd Dog, are the tallest dogs that grow up to three feet!
The Chihuahua and the Yorkshire Terrier are the smallest dogs each standing up to an average height of 7 inches and weighing a few pounds! The Chihuahua generally weighs from 0.9 to 2.7 kilos when fully grown, while the ideal weight for the Yorkshire Terrier is 3.1 kilos!
It is usually seen that big dogs have a shorter life span while small dogs have a longer span. The shortest span is about 6 to 7 years and the longest is about 16 years. There are some glaring exceptions to this generally accepted fact, with many small breeds having a short life span and the big dogs living for more than two decades.
